Dulce Bandeira, from Escola Secundária José Saramago (Mafra, Portugal), participated in an Erasmus+ Job Shadowing mobility at the 2nd Vocational High School (EPAL) of Evosmou in Thessaloniki, Greece, from 16 to 20 March 2026.
The mobility focused on enhancing European cooperation in vocational education, exchanging professional practices, and observing teaching and administrative methods in a vocational school setting.
Monday, 16 March 2026 – Introduction and School System
Mrs Dulce Bandeira was introduced to the Greek educational system, toured the school, and observed daily routines under the guidance of Mrs. Apostolidou Katerina and Mrs. Malama Bengli. This provided her with a foundational understanding of school organization and pedagogical approaches in Greece.
Tuesday, 17 March 2026 – Telemedicine and Vocational Learning
As part of her Job Shadowing, Mrs Dulce Bandeira participated in a visit to Vidavo, a Greek digital health technology company. The activity focused on the integration of telemedicine into vocational education, allowing her to observe professional practices, healthcare-related training, and practical applications of digital tools in education.
The session, coordinated by Mrs. Irini Arapi and Mrs. Aspasia Sidiropoulou, involved 6 students from the French Lycée Charles Mongrand (Port-de-Bouc, Marseille) with a French teacher, and 6 students from 2nd EPAL Evosmou, supporting cross-cultural learning and collaboration between Greek, French, and Portuguese participants.
Wednesday, 18 March 2026 – Administrative and Pedagogical Practices
Mrs Dulce Bandeira attended a staff meeting and accompanied teachers on an educational visit, gaining insight into the administrative, logistical, and pedagogical organization of school activities and how extracurricular programs are implemented in vocational education.
Thursday, 19 March 2026 – Cultural and Historical Education
A study trip to Veria included visits to the Holy Monastery of Panagia Dovra and the UNESCO World Heritage site of Vergina, highlighting the educational importance of cultural and historical awareness.
The visit involved 6 students from the French Lycée Charles Mongrand with a French teacher, and 82 students from 2nd EPAL Evosmou, enabling all participants to experience cultural heritage directly and engage in cross-cultural learning.
Friday, 20 March 2026 – Career Guidance and Future Skills
At 2nd EPAL Evosmou, Dulce participated in a career counselling seminar with professionals from KYANA HELLAS and ATLANTIS ENGINEERING, led by Mrs. Agapi Zopoglou. The session addressed the skills gap in vocational education and strategies for preparing students for future employment opportunities.
The mobility provided practical insights into vocational education practices, strengthened collaboration between Portuguese and Greek institutions, and offered opportunities to implement new educational methods at both schools, and indirectly also at French vocational schools.
